Get a Background Check, Done Differently
You will observe with other private investigations firms that almost everyone offers a “background check”. But what is a background check? Typically this is researching the background or history of a person or a business so you can make an assessment on whether to proceed with a realationship, a business deal or some other sort of potential connection.
Private investigators in Australia have to work within privacy laws so there are many things we can’t access unfortunately. Believe it or not we can’t access a criminal record. We can’t get into bank accounts or medical records. Investigators can’t even get official marriage or birth records as such. There are plenty of things we can research though, some of which can touch on what we can’t access from the relevant government databases – but other collection points are available for certain public information.
Why is our Background Check different?
Nearly all investigation companies will offer a background check covering everything a private investigator can rightfully access. A full background check could cost anywhere between $2500 and $5000, and some going even higher depending on the profile of the person or company being investigated. A lot of this information may not be of any use to you in your situation but looks good in a padded out report. If you’re after an all-round look at something this is the product for you and we’d be happy to assist. But what if you don’t need everything a background check will provide and you were just after information pertaining to certain areas of research.
Let’s say for example you were just interested in other names associated with the subject of the investigation to try and prove some sort of collusion, or you were only requiring a corporate history of a person. With Integral Investigations, we are happy to charge you an hourly rate for desktop research like this and generally you may only need a couple of hours research – saving you quite a lot of money compared to a full background check collecting details you probably don’t need.
How long will it take to get the information I am requiring?
We can’t determine how much time it will take to get your required information here in a blog because each segment of information can take varying times to access. Many available databases are at our fingertips but some we have to send away for so we can’t determine how many hours are required.
Historically though, we know that more often than not, smaller investigations looking at targeted information will likely only take two to three hours to carry out. So you’ve gone from a potential ten to fifteen hours background check to only two to three hours of a more centred investigation.
You can contact us at any time on enquiries@integralinvestigations.com.au and tell us what you are trying to achieve and the information you are requiring. As stated earlier, private detectives in Australia do not get open access to private databases but we definitely have avenues in most cases to be able to give a client an idea of a situation. So just drop us a line and tell us what you need. If we can’t help, we’ll just tell you that. But if we know of a way to possibly help we’ll guide you through the possibilities and then you’ll be better armed to make an informed decision.
What sort of information can a Private Investigator actually get?
This topic has been covered in a number of previous blog posts on our site so please make sure you have a browse through our other blog pages and you will get an understanding of what a PI can do. Remember, we have to work within privacy laws so anything we find out has been done legally and ethically.
